Meet the Coach

For someone who lived well over 2,000 years ago, Confucius had it spot on:

“Choose a job you love, and you will never have to work a day in your life.”

Roy has always lived life to the full. He has always had his own businesses and loved every minute of every different venture, from building houses to owning pubs and everything in between!

Roy has also been a punter his whole life and has always been passionate about sports, odds, numbers and percentages. He has owned racehorses and spent decades travelling around race tracks in the UK and Australia.

Roy has sat with the Sangster family, right next to the Royal Box at Royal Ascot (on more than one occasion) and given them the winner of the last race at the Royal meeting. He has dived deep into conversation with one of the greats in racing Sir Michael Stoute (probably the best trainer in the world) and, of course, he bumped into John ‘Big Mac’ McCririck more times than he could count.

When Betfair came along it levelled the playing field. Roy soon realised it was time to turn his hand to betting full time and he has never looked back.

It’s been well over a decade now and the CCB team always says that Roy has “been there, done that, and bought the T-Shirt!”. Roy has been sky high and hit rock bottom (as is often the case with entrepreneurs) and so there’s nothing he hasn’t experienced as a punter.
